Okay friends, so Pride Month is upon us. Any good Pride books you plan to read?
This year has been a total change for me. I had never really read pride books before but lately, I have been. I have a couple in mind that I want to read but if you guys are reading some maybe we can all bounce ideas off each other.

Hey, well I don’t have any books on ally’s. I’m trying to find nonfiction books on those but I’m sure they’re hard to come by. I do have a couple recs for the other though. First, you can’t go wrong with the book about Nicole Maines, “Being Nicole” by Amy Ellis Nutt. I’ve only read it once, and that was pre-her role on Supergirl, but it certainly made an impact. It was the first book I read before accepting my whole gay thing and after that I never read any LGBTQ+ books because it made me nervous, accepting who I was and all that.

A second book, and this one I strongly recommend is “Queerbaiting and Fandom: Teasing Fans through Homoerotic Possibilities” edited by Joseph Brennan. I discovered this one on a google scholar search by accident. The title immediately drew me in. It discusses just that- queerbaiting, but from a kind of research POV and it does a great job of it. While I wish it had gotten into depth about specific fandoms it was still a good read.

About Me
Ronnie
Shy and quiet reader. Shy and quiet writer.
Aside from being a fangirl, I am an avid reader to the extreme. I converted an old bedroom into a library so much of my time is spent in it. I read a variety of genres but my main genre is Non-Fiction and a sub-genre of Native American studies.
My top 3 books of all time:
- Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley

I’ve never read a Pride book but I would love to as a way to celebrate pride month. Do you have any recommendations?? Also, do you know if there are any books relating to LGBTQ ally’s? I’d be interested in reading something like that as well as I am a proud ally.
