As for my current read, I’m reading ‘Touched with Fire’. Even though they’ve always said that creativity was linked to bipolar disorder, Kay Redfield Jamison was one of the first to write about it. It was published in 1993 but the book is still relevant today and is one that is highly talked about in the bipolar community.
I’ve always believed and kind of known, I suppose, that my creativity is connected. Usually, when I’m manic or my meds are out of wack, it’s so easy to be productive and write like crazy. When I’m stable that’s when it’s difficult because it’s like my mind is just empty even though I know I have stories to tell. So I’m always having to force it or find ways to get it to spark. It can be frustrating at times.
This is a good book that touches on all of that. Even though I have other copies since I’ve read it before, this time I’m annotating it.
About Me
Ronnie
Shy and quiet reader. Shy and quiet writer.
Aside from being a fangirl, I am an avid reader to the extreme. I converted an old bedroom into a library so much of my time is spent in it. I read a variety of genres but my main genre is Non-Fiction and a sub-genre of Native American studies.
My top 3 books of all time:
- Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
