I’ve always used music as an escape from reality. An outlet I could use as a way to distract myself from everything going on. But I’ve recently come to find out that songs with lyrics that relate to my personal journey mean so much more to me. The other day I was listening to the 2021 Theme Song Slaylist (on shuffle) and the first song that played really hit home. I almost felt like the song had been written for me. The song helped to remind me all that I’ve overcame in the last year and the whole time I was listening to it, I was reflecting! It was a beautiful moment and I’m looking at music in a completely different way than I did before.

Adrienne, I’ve always liked music like that too. I like songs that I can relate to and that help me make sense of the world as well as what I’m going through. It makes things that much more personal.
