Citizen Creator

You don’t have to be a rock star, social influencer or A-list celebrity (if you are that’s cool too!) to make a positive difference in your local community or the world at large. Every day, everyday people just like you and me are rising above the confines of their own individual concerns, working toward the greater concerns of all humanity. We want to celebrate these people, and that’s why we’ve developed the Citizen Creator section.

If you have a story or experience that you’d like to share, either about yourself or someone you know who is living beyond self and making the world a better place, we would love to hear from you! Check out our submission and editorial guidelines to share your story.

We call this forced creativity, because we, as disabled and chronically ill people, are forced to adapt by making creative choices and we cannot thrive without doing so.  Read More »

More Than Just Art

Saturday, Oct 9th, 2021 - Growing up I had a hard time speaking...I had speech impediments, such as fragmenting my sentences, stutters, and getting my words mixed up. I always chastised myself for it and asked myself over and over why I couldn’t speak “normally”; the way those around me did. Read More »

Writing Through It

Thursday, Oct 7th, 2021 - Creativity is a noun. A noun is a person, place, or thing. Creativity is a thing, not an adjective or a description. When researching the definition, as well as reading Nathan’s #MindOverMatter intro, something that really stuck with me was the word originality. Being original. Read More »

The Same Other Side

Thursday, Sep 23rd, 2021 - Some mornings I wake up anxious, thinking about the day ahead; work, chores, socials — aah! For this, I blame my mind. Yes, the star of the show, or perhaps the villain, my brain. Read More »
