  • I can feel the need to write within me, and the spark is still there… it’s just challenging to get it out at the minute. I told myself it was okay to not write for the summer hoping that the need would be there when I got back, and it is. But whenever I sit down and feel like ‘heck yeah I have ALL the ideas and am going to finish this chapter’,…Read More

    • Sometimes I know what you mean, Riley. What usually helps me is keeping a pen and paper nearby or pulling out my notes on my phone. I’ll have this rush of ideas and then they’ll be gone if I don’t do those things. I had an experience similar to that. I was at a concert last weekend and out of nowhere this bit of inspiration hit. I kept…Read More

  • Ever the writer in me. We have to do discussions online for class and people/classmates are barely writing 8 sentences or less for their responses. And here I am writing like 4 1/2 paragraphs for me. Goes to show that no matter the class, I’ve still got my general writer’s skills and those won’t go away no matter what. Love it.

    I like my…Read More

    • I can relate. I find that if it is a topic I can relate too, I will ramble on. My discussion will be at least 1-2 paragraphs maybe more even when I replying to someone’s discussion that can be the case. I feel like I always have one of the longest replies–its weird. Even my introductory post was rather lengthy—but I guess I just have a lot to…Read More

  • I haven’t written for months due to various reasons, and 3 of those months were almost a forced break from it all which I felt I needed. Recently I started to word vomit out a kind of essay / article on my summer experience, and I’m really excited to share it. It’s almost done (and longer than I would’ve liked) but I really hope there’s something…Read More

  • This might not fit in with the exact idea of writing in terms of creatively but does any one else feel joy when their school notes are colourful? For me, it makes learning so much more fun. I always have to write them like this: each important person is written in their own colour, as are definitions, examples etc.

    • This helped me so much when studying for exams! It made the thought of it exciting as I could get my favourite pens out and make it look neat. The idea behind it was that if it was easier to see and read, I’d retain the information more easily… I don’t think it quite worked, but the process was satisfying at least.

    • OMG don’t get me started on this topic! I love writing and highlighting and making notes in my book. The way I view it is that my books are like journals, I’m responding with my own thoughts as to how I feel about the narrative or what words I don’t know and such. I certainly view it as a form of creativity because you can play around with it…Read More

  • I’m finally writing again, and it feels so good! Currently, I’m working on telling a story that I’ve come to love dearly. What Stories are you hoping to tell?

    • I’m currently working on another set of essays. I had so much fun the first time around that I want to write a kind of follow-up. I’m learning a lot of things with my autism stuff and I think I have a fun direction that I want to take it in.

    • That’s great, you’re writing again, Carson. It feels amazing doesn’t it!
