We caved in and watched the new live action Pinocchio…

I mean, Tom Hanks as Geppetto was very well suited. Double yes to Cynthia Erivo as the blue fairy (probably the best thing about the entire remake). Donkeys and pleasure island were, as expected, terrifying.

Overall I did think they did pretty well, and some of the scenes were literally the same shot for shot. Although, I do prefer the original… I think for me it’s just pure nostalgia that I do. The animation was epic though—especially Cleo the goldfish and Figaro the kitty.

ALSO (one last point, I promise) the easter eggs of Geppetto’s cuckoo clocks being Disney films was SO GOOD. Not going to lie, I did squeal when I saw the Toy Story clock.
