• Good morning, I have a question. What helps you feel productive? I hope you all have an awesome week. 😊

    • For me definitely music. I need to play my relaxation music in the morning to help me wake up, but then throughout the day I’m constantly listening to it. It helps me feel alive if I go to that extreme. Plus I just feel a lot calmer when I listen to music. When things are stressful I just have to put on a good tune and I can become happy again.

    • I’d have to agree with Ronnie on this one. There always needs to be some kind of background noise for me. I love music but I do also find a video to work as well. Sometimes, I even have a video of some kind playing in the background while I complete my school notes. Taking notes can be tedious at times so having an “auditory distraction” helps…Read More

      • I’m with you on having an auditory distraction. For me, it’s either music or rewatching a TV show I’ve already seen several times before.

    • Firstly, a cup of tea! It’s so silly for me to think that a hot drink in the morning / before I sit down to do a task makes ALL the difference. Even if it’s decaf (which is mostly is with me), it just tricks my brain into that focused zone. It may not last long but it definitely helps… along with movie scores. If I really need to get focused,…Read More

      • That’s amazing! Iced coffee is my tea but it works the same way for me. Even though caffeine weirdly doesn’t affect me most of the time. It’s all about tricking the mind.

  • What makes you feel most productive?

    • Definitely background noise or music. Generally, when I am doing something whether it be cleaning or school work, I find myself to be most productive when I have music playing or a video playing for background noise while I do so.

  • Today we want to know how you express your creativity?

    • My main creativity expression is through book annotating. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I find it creative because it’s a form of journaling to me. I like to highlight and write my thoughts in them based on the book I am reading and then later look back and see what it is I thought of at the time. I then will sometimes get multiple copies…Read More

  • What’s a moment of joy that you’ve experienced during this last week?

    • Goodbye hugs from the coworkers I’ve grown to love over the last five weeks 😀

    • Something so superficial but BN having a book that I wanted because they hardly ever have the books that I want.

    • Although full of so much sadness, leaving camp! It was such a satisfying, proud, joyful moment to know that the summer has come to a close and looking back on how many trans kids just got to be kids at a summer camp.

  • What has inspired you recently?

    • Let’s see, I suppose it’s been the joy I got out of writing my first book. It has me already in the process of writing my second and I think I’ll be proud of this next one as well.

    • A little act of kindness this morning helped me feel inspired to keep going! Myself and my coworker who worked alongside me as supervisor for two weeks while another supervisor was on vacation, received a shout out in the WhatsApp group chat today telling us what a fantastic job we did.

    • At family camp last weekend (just about to go into another, final session), I realised that there is hope out there for trans kids. The amount of love and acceptance from those parents/guardians/siblings had me in tears all weekend. It has inspired me to keep being visible when I can and to keep educating, just like those parents are.
