I love when I can find books that relate to our various threads around here. This time instead of placing this in the books thread I thought I’d share it here.
Last year I read ‘This Is What It Sounds Like: What The Music You Love Says About You’ by Susan Rogers and Ogi Ogas. This was such a fun read. It got me thinking about things I had not considered before. The reason I picked it up was because it sounded interesting and I just love music in general (listening to it anyways. I’m no writer when it comes to lyrics and I’m terrible at playing instruments).
While I read it last year, I never got around to finishing it. Just need 3 more chapters which I’ll be able to do. Still, though, the book was really something else. There’s a chapter on lyrics. In it, the authors discuss how lyrics shape us in that we resonate with certain songs because they are a reflection of who we are, our personalities. It’s quite interesting.
This is the book incase anyone is interested.
About Me
Ronnie
Shy and quiet reader. Shy and quiet writer.
Aside from being a fangirl, I am an avid reader to the extreme. I converted an old bedroom into a library so much of my time is spent in it. I read a variety of genres but my main genre is Non-Fiction and a sub-genre of Native American studies.
My top 3 books of all time:
- Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
