My life has been a whirlwind of chaos lately. Needless to say, I haven’t had the time or mental energy to write. Well, I want to write. I’ve come up with a writing challenge that I hope you’ll join me in. Music is a grounding force for me. Much like Nathan always says music is medicine for the soul. So, I’ve decided I’m going to make a writing…Read More

    • I love this idea – music is a big inspiration for the stories I want to create, especially lyrics. I’m currently writing a piece that has a drummer as the main character and I find so much joy and inspiration by creating playlists of what music they like, what music they play etc.

    • Love this, Carson. Especially the timing. My upcoming self-published book actually has to deal with music so I’m excited for it to be released.

    • Oh I will definitely join this challenge. I haven’t been writing that much lately and could use a little inspiration.

Here’s my take on the Worry jar activity Adrienne posted. I decided to write them down in my Grimoire so that I can keep adding to the list if new worries come. I wrote each one down as a way of letting each worry go.

  • Since we’ve been talking about mental health lately. What’s a tv show that brings you comfort in times of stress?

    • Oh that’s a difficult question because there’s so many. Once Upon A Time and all the Star Wars shows/movies bring me lots of comfort.

    • Oh that’s so hard because there are so many answers to this but an honourable mention is The Fosters, watching that show feels like a big warm hug.

    • Full House for sure… I started watching it while I went through a really rough time that I don’t remember now, but I can put it on whatever mood I’m in and it just brings a little smile to my face now.

    • Love the question. Definitely Power Rangers: Time Force because it helped me at the start of my depression when I was a kid. I suppose another would be Joan of Arcadia. That one helped me in my teens and to this day I still find solace whenever I watch it.

Good morning, I have a question. What helps you feel productive? I hope you all have an awesome week. 😊

    • For me definitely music. I need to play my relaxation music in the morning to help me wake up, but then throughout the day I’m constantly listening to it. It helps me feel alive if I go to that extreme. Plus I just feel a lot calmer when I listen to music. When things are stressful I just have to put on a good tune and I can become happy again.

    • I’d have to agree with Ronnie on this one. There always needs to be some kind of background noise for me. I love music but I do also find a video to work as well. Sometimes, I even have a video of some kind playing in the background while I complete my school notes. Taking notes can be tedious at times so having an “auditory distraction” helps…Read More

      • I’m with you on having an auditory distraction. For me, it’s either music or rewatching a TV show I’ve already seen several times before.

    • Firstly, a cup of tea! It’s so silly for me to think that a hot drink in the morning / before I sit down to do a task makes ALL the difference. Even if it’s decaf (which is mostly is with me), it just tricks my brain into that focused zone. It may not last long but it definitely helps… along with movie scores. If I really need to get focused,…Read More

      • That’s amazing! Iced coffee is my tea but it works the same way for me. Even though caffeine weirdly doesn’t affect me most of the time. It’s all about tricking the mind.
